Knotvo

Help with site-speed analysis on macOS.

Contact the developer for questions about HAR files, live measurements, reports, privacy or unexpected results.

What is a HAR file?

A HAR (HTTP Archive) file is a log of a web page’s network requests. In Chrome, Edge or Safari DevTools, open Network, reload the page, then choose Save all as HAR. Open that file in Knotvo to analyze it.

Does my data leave my Mac?

HAR analysis is 100% local and nothing is uploaded. The optional live URL measurement sends only the URL you enter to Google PageSpeed Insights.

Live measurement quota and API keys

Live measurement uses Google’s PageSpeed Insights API. You can create a free API key in Google Cloud Console and add it under Settings → PageSpeed Insights API Key.

Localhost, staging and protected pages

Live measurement requires a public URL that Google can reach. For private, staging, localhost or VPN-only pages, capture a HAR in your browser and open it in Knotvo.

Sharing a HAR safely

Use Sanitize → Share-Safe Copy. Knotvo removes cookies, Authorization headers, tokens and body secrets locally while leaving the original file unchanged.

Resetting Knotvo

Settings → Reset all data permanently removes brands, sites, scans, the PageSpeed API key and preferences from your Mac.
